FUNKagenda are happy to welcome back Andy “Redanka” Holt to the ones and twos…
After a very successful night back in december with andy we thought it was a opportunity not to be missed to bring him back for another great night…
Andy ‘Redanka’ Holt’s involvement in the global music scene runs to over twenty years. From his first drumming job in 80’s UK pop/dance soulsters ‘The Dream Factory’ to the currently massive remix of Snow Patrol’s ‘Open Your Eyes’, Andy has worked with some of the greatest names in both dance and rock music today. Besides the aforementioned Snow Patrol, U2 (official remix of Elevation), Fatboy Slim, Razorlight (official remix of America), Danny Tenaglia, Satoshi Tomiie, Happy Mondays, Delerium and Faithless are just some of the artists who have called on Mr. Holt’s production talent in recent times. However, it’s not suffice to say he’s just a gun for hire, as projects such as Redanka, Plank 15, Situation 2wo, Graffik, DATAR, Tarrentella, Nerva, The Technocracy, Me & Our Friends and various others too numerous to mention here will testify to. Hundred’s of releases later, I think we can say that the Midlands Massive boy has been very busy…..let’s just leave it at that!! As a direct result of the success of the production work requests for DJ sets soon followed, and over the past decade or so he’s been fortunate enough to play at some of the worlds greatest dance music clubs and festivals. Pacha Ibiza & Buenos Aires, Panama Amsterdam, Dance Valley Holland, Gods Kitchen Birmingham, Moscow & Shanghai, Home In Sydney, The Kitchen Dublin and Centro Singapore are just some of the many to have had Andy on the decks playing his mix of contemporary dance music to the global clubbing fraternity. His DJ ethos has always been ‘if it’s good enough, play it’, so if there’s one thing you can guarantee in a Redanka DJ set it’s quality music………and when it comes down to it that’s what matters most.

FUNKagenda Presents Terracotta Army 28th March 09
by wilks on May.01, 2009, under Uncategorized

FUNKagenda are proud to present for their first ever UK DJ date, The Terracotta Army.
The Terracotta Army are one of the hottest up and coming production teams in the UK at the moment, consisting of Mick Park (of Parks & Wilson, Tilt and Killahurtz fame), Nic Britton (of Tilt and Killahurtz fame) and FUNKagenda’s very own Alex Brown.
The boys already have remixes for Way Out West, Quivver and more recently the biggest band in the world U2 under their belt, and their productions and remixes have received major support from DJ’s such as Nick Warren, Sasha, Pete Tong, Armin Van Buuren(DJ mag’s Number 1 DJ in the world for the last 2 years running) & Paul Van Dyk to name but a few.
Their debut single “Stealing Souls” has just been signed to Armin Van Buuren’s record label Armada Records, and with a hectic DJ and production schedule planned for 2009/2010, as well as a live tour planned for late 09 early 2010 life is certainly getting hectic for the boys.

TILT…
Back in the day, Tilt originally began with Mick Parks and Mick Wilson, in Coventry, England. The focal point in the early days was a club called Eclipse; the first club in the UK to get a late licence and successfully move the rave ‘indoors’ into the club context that we know today. They became resident dj’s and it was here that they met Sasha, who proved to be a great inspiration for the boys and gave them the confidence to go on and produce their own material. Their work as a duo (Parks and Wilson) has a long and successful history as both DJs and music producers.
They met John Graham (Quivver), another like-minded Coventrian and set up a band called Tilt in 1993 as a production outfit. They signed to Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label and the big break came in 1996 with ‘I Dream’ a top 40 hit in the UK. Other tracks were to follow in the success, such as ‘My Spirit’ and ‘Places’ and in 1999 Tilt recorded ‘Rendezvous’ with Paul Van Dyk. Its inclusion on the record breaking Oakenfold Tranceport US CD brought the sound of Tilt to a North American audience.
The Perfecto deal ran its course and soon they were signed Red Jerry’s Hooj Choons, where they had more success; one of the more successful tracks being ‘Invisible’ (a tune recorded with Dom Atkins a.k.a. Grace on vocals), which went top 20. More underground tracks such as ‘What’s This’ and ‘The Seduction of Orpheus’ followed, both of which featured heavilly on dance compilations.
John Graham left Tilt in 2002 to concentrate on his Quivver project and Tilt became a duo again. After leaving Hooj Tilt released two further EPs “Headstrong” and “Left Of Centre” which built on their darker, edgier sound.
Mick Park had done a lot of work with a young producer/dj Andy Moor` who is known for solo work and also for collaborations such as Leama and Moor, Sworn and Whiteroom. The combination of Mick, Mick and Andy worked so they decided to produce more songs together and subsequently the 24 year old joined Tilt. In 2004 they released their debut album “Explorer” on the Lost Language label. It was a great success and spawned three singles; one of the tracks of 2005 “The World Doesn’t Know”, “Twelve” and “New Day”.
In 2005 Mick Wilson left Tilt to pursue his band (Broken Dolls) and solo projects, leaving Mick and Andy to carry the Tilt mantle forward.
MICK WILSON…
Mick Wilson has been around the scene for years and he’s best known for being half of Parks and Wilson (with Mick Parks) and for being involved with Tilt (Originaly with Parks and Wilson and John Quivver Graham, till Quivver left and they both kept going till they added Andy Moor. He’s left Parks and Wilson and now he is touring with his rock band The Broken Dolls on the same stages that he used to play as a deejay…
